La. Tech to play at LSU in 2018

Staff Reports
LSU and Louisiana Tech will play again in 2018.

RUSTON – Louisiana Tech officials announced Thursday that a 2018 non-conference football game at LSU has been scheduled.

The meeting, set for Oct. 20, 2018 at Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge, will mark the 20th meeting between the two in-state schools. The last meeting occurred in 2009 with LSU rallying for a 24-16 win over Louisiana Tech after the Bulldogs held a 13-10 lead at halftime.

Louisiana Tech remains the only public school in Louisiana to have defeated LSU in football.

Only twice before has Louisiana Tech played in front of crowds larger than 100,000. The Bulldogs played in front of 104,257 at No. 8 Tennessee on Sept. 25, 2004 and played in front of 103,987 at No. 15 Penn State on Sept. 21, 2002.

The announcement of the game completes Louisiana Tech’s non-conference schedule for the 2018 season (barring any changes). Tech will also play at South Alabama (Sept. 1), at Mississippi State (Sept. 15) and against Bowling Green (Sept. 22) that season.

The Bulldogs are coming off a dominating 47-28 win over Arkansas State in the 2015 R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.
