Deputies spoke to the victim who said he had an argument with Goins, his father, over his work performance. The argument ended and the victim got in his vehicle to leave.

According to the report, the suspect then retrieved a shotgun from a second vehicle and approached the victim and challenged him. The victim said he then stepped out of the vehicle and the suspect shot him in the shoulder.  A witness then grabbed the gun and took the victim to the hospital.

Per the report, Goins contacted the Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office and turned himself in. He confirmed portions of the victim's statement to deputies but said as the victim exited his vehicle, the victim grabbed the gun.

Goins said they both pulled on the weapon and it accidentally discharged.

Goins was transported to Ouachita Correctional Center and booked Monday on one count of aggravated battery. Bond was set at $10,000.

The victim was transported to Shreveport for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
